Cambodia Condemns Moscow Terrorist Attack, Offers Condolences

Phnom Penh, March 25, 2024 – Cambodia has expressed its shock and condemnation following a deadly terrorist attack at the Moscow Crocus Concert Hall in Moscow on March 22, 2024, which resulted in dozens of deaths and hundreds of injuries.

In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, the Royal Government voiced its strongest condemnation of the attack. "We are shocked by the deaths of dozens of people and hundreds injured in a terrorist attack at the Moscow Crocus Concert Hall on March 22, 2024. The Royal Government of Cambodia condemns the vicious attack in the strongest possible terms," stated the ministry.

Furthermore, the ministry extended its deepest condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims and the Government of the Russian Federation, hoping for a quick and complete recovery for those injured. “Cambodia reiterates that any acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of motivation. We stand with the Russian government and people during this time of grief,” emphasized the statement dated March 23.

Echoing the sentiments of the Foreign Ministry, the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia also issued a statement on March 24, expressing its dismay at the tragic loss of life and the high number of injuries. The statement conveyed the Cambodian people’s deep sadness and extended condolences to the victims' families, along with wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured.

The National Assembly unequivocally condemned the terrorist act as an indefensible crime, underlining its stance against terrorism in any form. “We extend our unwavering solidarity to the Government of the Russian Federation and its people during this time of sorrow,” the statement concluded, reaffirming Cambodia’s support in the face of this tragedy.
